Yearbook staff photographers will be waiting for vehicles (cars, bikes, unicycles, skateboards, etc…) and drivers/riders to pull up for a photo and fill out the accompanying survey.
This quarterly event provides an opportunity to chat with Principal Lucy Davies and fellow parents over coffee and snacks. It's a casual, drop-in event, so stop by anytime and grab a cup of coffee and a snack. Younger siblings are welcome. (Please bring an activity or something for them to do.)
The Principal's Chat has been rescheduled from Feb. 18 to Feb. 25. Parents are welcome to hear a brief report on school events. Principal Tim Patterson will also respond to parent questions.
Grades 2-5 (max 15 students) Portable 303 Using drag-and-drop programming environments, students will complete a sequence of increasingly difficult coding challenges. Primary programming tool used is Scratch. Intended for students who have not taken this class before. Intermediated Class is on Thursdays.
Learn more about the new state tests that students in grades 3-8 and 11 will take this spring. This meeting will be held in the LWSD Resource Center Board Room.
20% of proceeds raised between 3:00 pm & 10:00 pm at the Totem Lake Menchie's on Thursday, February 26 will be given to the Thoreau PTA. Watch for the special Menchie's flyer to be sent home the week of February 23rd. A copy or cell phone photo of the flyer will be required at purchase.
Grades 2-5 (max 15 students) This class is intended for students who participated in the fall session and want to continue learning more! Primary programming tool used is Scratch. This class will build on what was taught in the fall 2014 session. Beginning class is offered on Wednesdays.
Open to Twain students, K-6. This Winter's theme is Ancient Egypt. We will explore the prolific art of the ancient Egyptians covering wall paintings that depict their way of life, pyramids, mummies and royahlty such as King Tut, a child king, and Queen Nefertiti. We will also sculpt the Sphynx and explore the Egyptian writing.
